Makayla Lauren Maxwell-Stallcup, Dallas Criminal Attorney

Makayla Lauren Maxwell-Stallcup is a criminal defense attorney in the Dallas office of Dunham & Jones. She handles primarily felonies, most often DWI, assault, family violence, possession, and theft cases, and appears almost entirely in Dallas County. She has handled more than 300 cases.

Ms. Maxwell-Stallcup earned a B.S. in Business and a B.A. in Economics, with a minor in Alternative Energy Solutions, from Centenary College of Louisiana, graduating with honors and as a member of the Economics Honor Society. She went on to the University of Oklahoma College of Law, finishing in 2019, where she served on the Board of Advocates. She was licensed in Texas in 2022.

Before joining the firm, she clerked at Cook, Yancy, King and Galloway in Shreveport from 2017 to 2019 and at the Brandy Austin Law Firm in Arlington in 2020, worked as a legal writer at Zinda Law Group in Dallas from 2020 to 2021, and interned with the Dallas County Public Defender's Office from 2021 to 2022.

Ms. Maxwell-Stallcup gives every client a thorough defense. She does criminal defense work because she cares about her clients and about protecting their constitutional rights.

Outside of work, she hikes and walks her dog.
