Clayton Littlefield, Corpus Christi Criminal Attorney

Clayton Christopher Littlefield is the Managing Attorney in the Corpus Christi office of Dunham & Jones. He handles misdemeanors and felonies and appears most often in Nueces, San Patricio, and Aransas Counties. He has tried more than 35 jury trials, first and second chair, and handled more than 1,000 cases. His earlier work included federal organized crime cases.

Mr. Littlefield graduated from Texas State University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in international studies, concentrating in international trade and business. His Juris Doctor is from St. Mary’s University School of Law, where he served as Vice President of the Criminal Law Association and clerked for San Antonio criminal defense attorneys, including Hasdorff & Convery from 2012 to 2015. Texas licensed him in 2017, and he spent about a year in solo practice.

He works a case aggressively, starting with the evidence: finishing the investigation the district attorney’s office left undone and talking to the witnesses nobody called. He has put more than 100 hours of continuing legal education into DWI defense, and lately into defending people accused of sexual assault.

Mr. Littlefield does this work because he believes criminal defense is the closest an attorney gets to defending someone’s actual constitutional rights. Defense lawyers, in his words, are the “line in the sand” between people’s rights and constant government attempts to erode them.

He grew up on the Gulf Coast nearer Houston and has lived in Corpus Christi since 2020, after more than a decade in Central and South Texas. Outside of work he travels, dozens of countries and at least 30 states so far, spends time with friends and family, and follows the Astros and the Texans.
