Joseph Lindberg, Texas Criminal Attorney

Joseph Lindberg is the managing attorney of the Houston office of Dunham & Jones, a statewide criminal defense firm that represents people charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses. As managing attorney, he oversees the office's legal work, guides case strategy, and supports the attorneys and staff who defend clients across Harris, Montgomery, Fort Bend, Brazoria, Galveston, Liberty, Chambers, and Waller Counties, overseeing thousands of cases.

Mr. Lindberg's path to criminal defense began at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in business marketing. He earned his Juris Doctor in 2018 from the University of Illinois at Chicago John Marshall Law School. While in law school, he worked part-time as a law clerk at Lake Toback DiDomenico and at Anselmo Lindberg & Associates, externed for Judge Regina Scannicchio in the Domestic Relations Division of the Cook County Circuit Court, and interned with the school's Family Law and Domestic Violence Clinic. Those roles gave him firsthand experience with legal research, case preparation, and the procedural work behind litigation.

After earning his law degree, Mr. Lindberg moved to Texas and was licensed in 2019. His first Texas positions were as a staff attorney at Baron & Budd and then as an associate attorney at Criss Law Group and at Brandy Austin Law Firm, before he joined Dunham & Jones in 2020 to focus on criminal defense. He practiced in the firm's Dallas office from 2020 to 2021, handling his own docket in court, and then moved to San Antonio, where he served as managing attorney from 2021 to 2023. He has led the Houston office since October 2023.

The Houston office handles DWI defense, assault and domestic violence allegations, drug possession, theft and property crimes, and other misdemeanor and felony offenses. Mr. Lindberg works with the office's attorneys on everything from early case evaluation through negotiation and trial preparation, with a focus on protecting the rights of people accused of crimes.

Mr. Lindberg approaches a case with care and consideration, aware of the effect it will have on a client's life. Being thorough and methodical helps identify strong defense strategies against the State's case. He does this work to help people in their time of need, because he believes in the justice system but knows it is flawed, and people deserve representation from lawyers who care about the result.

Mr. Lindberg lives in the Houston area. Outside of his legal practice, he enjoys music, golf, running, and spending time with his family.
