Mary VanRavenswaay, Fort Worth Criminal Attorney

Mary Kathleen VanRavenswaay is a criminal defense attorney in the Fort Worth office of Dunham & Jones. She defends family violence cases, misdemeanors and felonies alike, and appears in Tarrant County. She has handled hundreds of cases since Texas licensed her in 2023.

Born in Fort Worth and raised in Hurst, Ms. VanRavenswaay graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in English literature and a minor in psychology. She started at Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law in 2020, interned with the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, and represented indigent clients in Dallas County through SMU’s criminal clinic. She finished law school in 2023 having completed 875 hours of pro bono work.

How she builds a defense depends on the offense. She belongs to the Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.

Outside of work, Ms. VanRavenswaay enjoys LEGO building, cat-wrangling, and meeting new pizza delivery drivers.
