Christopher Mark Jeansonne, Texas Criminal Attorney

Christopher Mark Jeansonne is a criminal defense attorney and senior leader at Dunham & Jones, where he oversees the firm's statewide operations across its 18 locations, from attorney staffing and training to client intake and technology, and manages the firm's aviation department to support clients across Texas. His practice is devoted to criminal defense in state and federal court, including DWI, drug offenses, theft, white-collar crimes, sexual assault, homicide, and complex felony indictments, and he has counseled thousands of clients over his career.

Born in New Orleans, Mr. Jeansonne has lived in Austin since 2004. He graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin in 2007 with a B.A. in Economics and earned his Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2011. In law school he served as Articles Editor of the Texas Tech Law Review and worked as an appellate law clerk for the Lubbock County District Attorney's Office, gaining experience in criminal appeals and constitutional law. As a second-year law student, he wrote an article analyzing the constitutionality of deferred adjudication and deferred prosecution programs for DWI charges in Texas.

Licensed in Texas in 2011, Mr. Jeansonne joined Dunham & Jones directly from law school. In 2013 he was admitted to all four federal district courts in Texas: the Western, Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts. Alongside his casework, he leads the firm's internal training and development programs and takes part in attorney recruitment, onboarding, and procedural training, so that new lawyers are ready to represent clients from their first day.

As Mr. Jeansonne puts it, no one has a good day and decides to call a criminal defense lawyer. He puts himself in the client's shoes, works to understand what the client is going through, and focuses on the issues that matter most to the client and the client's life. He does this work because he enjoys getting to know and helping people from all walks of life across Texas.
