Lia Polk is a Dallas, Texas native. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Houston and received her Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in Houston. The majority of her legal career has been extensively in criminal law representing adults and juveniles in private practice and as a former Assistant Public Defender for more than a decade with the Dallas County Public Defender's Office.
She has represented hundreds of individuals in misdemeanor and felony cases such as possession of drugs , property offenses, driving while intoxicated, assault and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, injury to child/elderly, and many more.
Her passion for pursuit of justice and fairness to fight for everyone led Lia to serve as an adjunct faculty with Dallas College in the School of Law and Public Service teaching criminal law and conflict management and dispute resolution courses.
