Rustin Bridges, Fort Worth Criminal Attorney

Rustin Ray Bridges is a criminal defense attorney in the Fort Worth office of Dunham & Jones and a former felony prosecutor. He handles DWI, family violence assault, sex crimes, gun charges, and drug charges, misdemeanors and felonies alike, and appears in Tarrant, Gregg, Rusk, Panola, and Nacogdoches Counties. He has tried more than 40 jury trials, about 20 of them as first chair, and has handled more than 1,500 cases as a prosecutor and more than 500 as a defense attorney.

A native of Hallsville, Mr. Bridges graduated from Baylor University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science, then taught at Hallsville High School from 2016 to 2018. At SMU Dedman School of Law he served as a managing attorney in the Criminal Defense Clinic, and Texas licensed him in 2021.

He spent the fall of 2021 at the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office as a post-bar clerk, then prosecuted felonies at the Smith County District Attorney’s Office from 2021 to 2023 before joining Dunham & Jones. Working both sides of the courtroom shapes how he defends a case now.

He reviews all the evidence before building a defense strategy with the client, around what that client wants out of the case. He does not push anyone into a plea, and if the client wants to fight the charge, he takes it to trial.

Outside of work, Mr. Bridges reads, cooks, hunts, fishes, travels, and spends time with his family.
