Sidney James Greehey, San Antonio Criminal Attorney

Sidney James Greehey is a criminal defense attorney in the San Antonio office of Dunham & Jones and a former Bexar County prosecutor. He has tried more than 25 jury trials as first chair and more than 50 in all, and he appears in Bexar, Comal, and Guadalupe Counties.

A San Antonio native, Mr. Greehey earned his degree in finance from Texas A&M University in 2010, where he served as president of Beta Theta Pi in 2009 and 2010. At St. Mary's University he earned both a law degree and a Master of Business Administration, and he was licensed in Texas in 2016. He is an Eagle Scout, an honor he earned in 2005.

Mr. Greehey served as a misdemeanor prosecutor in Bexar County, then practiced privately with Rogers and Greehey and with Greehey Law. His work has also included estate planning with Anna Torres and Associates.

Mr. Greehey builds a personal relationship with each client based on honest candor. Working with prosecutors is usually the better path, and he is not afraid to rock the boat when that serves the client instead. He sees himself as an advisor who answers to the client. He does defense work because he has seen injustice in his own life and career, and he wants to be an advocate for the falsely accused and for people who deserve a chance after a mistake.

Outside the office, Mr. Greehey is married to his high school sweetheart, spends time with their two young children, and enjoys golf, bird hunting, and deer hunting.
