MacKenzie Jane Watson, Houston Criminal Attorney

MacKenzie Jane Watson is a criminal defense attorney in the Houston office of Dunham & Jones. She represents clients in Harris County charged with DWI, assault, assault of a family member, theft, unlawful carrying of a weapon, and criminal mischief, as well as felonies such as aggravated assault and burglary.

Ms. Watson grew up in Milford, Michigan, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science (pre-law) from Michigan State University in 2019. She received her Juris Doctor from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2024, where she took part in the Global Lawyering Program and traveled to Israel to conduct legal research. She was licensed in Texas in 2024.

Before joining Dunham & Jones, Ms. Watson was a prosecutor with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, where she tried jury trials as first chair. Counting her time as a prosecutor, she has handled thousands of cases. At Dunham & Jones, she has assisted on felony jury trials, including an aggravated assault case and a murder case.

Ms. Watson keeps her clients informed at each step of the process. After a careful look at the evidence, she identifies the strategies available and talks through the options with each client so they can decide together on the path that makes the most sense. She enjoys the fast pace of criminal defense and the chance to have a positive impact on people's lives.

She has lived in Houston since 2024. Outside of work, she plays tennis and does service work in the community.
