Ian Christian Mayfield, San Antonio Criminal Attorney

Ian Christian Mayfield is a criminal defense attorney in the San Antonio office of Dunham & Jones. He handles DWI, drug, theft, and weapons cases, both misdemeanors and felonies, in Bexar, Comal, Wilson, Karnes, and Guadalupe Counties. He is fluent in Spanish.

Mr. Mayfield was born and raised in San Antonio. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary's University with a double major in political science and Spanish, then his Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University School of Law, and he was licensed in Texas in 2023.

In law school, Mr. Mayfield worked in the Immigration and Human Rights Clinic at the Center for Legal and Social Justice, where he received the Pro Bono and Public Service Award. He also interned with the Bexar County District Attorney's Office and worked as a research assistant for a professor. Dunham & Jones is his first job as a licensed attorney, and he has tried jury trials as both first and second chair and handled hundreds of cases.

Mr. Mayfield is a certified mediator and a member of the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.

He wants his clients to feel heard, and to know they have someone they can trust fighting for their rights, with empathy at every step.

Outside of work, Mr. Mayfield spends time with his family, travels, and goes on long bike rides. He is a die-hard Baltimore Orioles and Indianapolis Colts fan.
