Jacqueline 'Jackie' Kopetsky is a criminal defense attorney in the Dallas office of Dunham & Jones. She represents clients charged with misdemeanor DWI, assault family violence, drug possession, and theft, and she appears most often in Ellis and Kaufman Counties.
Ms. Kopetsky was born in Dallas and grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where her family still lives. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2022, then attended Texas Tech University School of Law. There she served as president of the Criminal Law Association, was a member of the Board of Barristers, and spent each law school summer interning with the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office.
She joined DebnamRust as an extern in January 2025 and became an associate after she was licensed in Texas later that year, handling family law, juvenile defense, and CPS defense cases before coming to Dunham & Jones.
Ms. Kopetsky keeps her clients fully informed, pursues the outcome that fits their circumstances, and leaves the major decisions to them, because their future is the one at stake. She came to criminal defense to help people through a system that can be confusing and unfair, especially juveniles, who are more likely to get lost in it.
Outside the office, she reads, runs, and takes Pilates classes. Her husband coaches soccer, and she helps manage his teams, so most weekends find her at a game. At home are her dog, Artemis, and her cat, Mia.
