Rachel Ferraro, Plano Criminal Attorney

Rachel S. Ferraro is a criminal defense attorney in the Plano office of Dunham & Jones and a former prosecutor with the Collin County District Attorney's Office. She handles felonies, DWI, and family violence cases, and she appears most often in Collin and Grayson Counties.

Ms. Ferraro is originally from West Chester, Pennsylvania. She graduated magna cum laude from Duquesne University in 2021 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Sociology, then earned her Juris Doctor from Liberty University School of Law in 2024. In law school she took part in the Alternative Dispute Resolution program, served as Vice President of the Women's Law Society, and interned at MacElree Harvey, where she supported attorneys through each stage of criminal litigation.

Licensed in Texas in 2024, Ms. Ferraro served at the Collin County District Attorney's Office from 2024 to 2026. She began by prosecuting misdemeanors, was promoted to Misdemeanor Chief and Misdemeanor Chief of the Domestic Violence Unit, and then moved to the Felony Trial Team. She has tried more than 20 cases, more than half of them as first chair, out of the hundreds she has handled.

She works through the facts, the evidence, the law, and the defenses available, looks for the weak points in the prosecution's case, and protects her client's constitutional rights whether the case is resolved through negotiation or goes to trial. She does this work because she believes a person deserves to be treated as a human being, not just as a charge.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, cooking, playing with her dog Philly, spending time with friends and family, and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles.
