Kyle A. Miller is a criminal defense attorney in the Amarillo office of Dunham & Jones and a former county attorney and prosecutor. He handles DWI and felony cases of every kind in Moore, Gray, and Potter Counties and across most of the northern Panhandle. He has tried at least 200 civil and criminal cases to a jury and has handled thousands of cases.
Mr. Miller graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994 and earned his Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law. He was licensed in Texas in 1998 and admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas that same year.
He served as County Attorney of Hemphill County from 2017 to 2026 and, before that, ran a solo criminal defense practice from 2012 to 2017. Earlier in his career he was an Assistant District Attorney in Potter County, an Assistant City Attorney in Bryan, and a litigation attorney for Farmer's Insurance. As county attorney he authored legislation targeting officers who move between departments after misconduct, which led to changes in how the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement regulates and reports on them.
Mr. Miller starts each case with the raw facts and follows where the evidence leads, then looks at the people involved and where their strengths and weaknesses lie. He has always been fascinated by criminal law and has loved being part of the justice system.
Originally from Gonzales, Mr. Miller now lives in the Texas Panhandle. Outside of work he plays golf and guitar, hunts, camps, and takes part in shooting sports.
