Theophile N. Kadia, Dallas Criminal Attorney

Theophile N. Kadia is a criminal defense and trial attorney in the Dallas office of Dunham & Jones and a former Kaufman County prosecutor. He handles misdemeanors and felonies, from DWI, possession, and unlawful carrying of a weapon to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and intoxication assault, and he appears in Dallas County Criminal Court 8, the 282nd District Court, the Dallas Spanish-speaking dockets, and all Navarro County courts.

Born in Kumba, Cameroon, Mr. Kadia moved to Italy as a child before settling in the United States. He graduated from David W. Carter High School in Dallas and earned bachelor's degrees in Iberian and Latin American Languages and Cultures and in Italian from the University of Texas at Austin in 2018, with Liberal Arts Special Departmental Honors. He earned his Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, where he received the 2023 Law Student Pro Bono Award from the Louisiana State Bar Association and four CALI Excellence for the Future Awards.

Mr. Kadia served as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney in Kaufman County from 2025 to 2026. His trial record includes first-chair and second-chair jury trials, and he has handled hundreds of cases.

He starts with the probable cause affidavit, the offense report, and every piece of video and other discovery, then talks with the client about their side of the story and gathers mitigating evidence before negotiating. He does this work because it satisfies him to help people accused of a crime and to see that their constitutional rights are respected.
