
Mr. Byrne earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Tulane University, where he double-majored in Molecular Biology and Philosophy. He later received his Juris Doctor from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law. His scientific training informs his ability to critically analyze forensic and evidentiary issues, while his background in philosophy shapes his strong analytical and ethical perspective.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Byrne has worked on high-stakes criminal defense matters, including as part of a trial team that successfully avoided the death penalty. He has also secured multiple stays of execution from the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, demonstrating his command of post-conviction advocacy and appellate procedure.
In addition to his defense work, Mr. Byrne has served the State of Texas in both administrative and litigation roles. He presided over administrative hearings and issued decisions in regulatory disputes, and later served as an Assistant Attorney General, defending agency actions in civil court.
With extensive experience on both sides of the courtroom, Mr. Byrne is known for his precision, depth of legal knowledge, and calm, confident representation in high-pressure situations.
