Bohumila ‘Bo’ Jones, Fort Worth Criminal Attorney

Bohumila 'Bo' Jones is an associate attorney in the Fort Worth office of Dunham & Jones. Her role is largely administrative: she reviews the firm's criminal cases from every county it serves. Over her career she has handled more than 1,000 cases and has served as second chair in jury trials.

Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, Ms. Jones grew up in West Berlin, Germany, and then moved to Fort Worth, where she attended Southwest High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, cum laude, from Texas Christian University in 1990. At TCU she was a Texas Christian University Scholar, was named to the Dean's Honor List, and was recognized as an Outstanding College Student of America. She earned her Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law in 1996, with concentrations in business litigation and general civil litigation. At Baylor she was a member of the Harvey M. Richey Moot Court Society and the Order of Barristers, made the Dean's List, and was a Top Ten Speaker in Appellate Advocacy.

Licensed in Texas in 1996, Ms. Jones began her career as an Assistant County Attorney in Johnson County from 1997 to 1998, prosecuting juvenile cases. From 1998 to 1999 she was an Assistant District Attorney for Johnson and Somervell Counties. There she presented cases to the grand jury, drafted indictments, prepared criminal cases for trial, and assisted the Johnson County Children's Advocacy Center with child sexual abuse investigations. She also advised the S.T.O.P. (Stop The Offender Program) Narcotics Task Force and handled the office's asset and bond forfeiture cases. Ms. Jones then practiced civil litigation in Fort Worth, first at Barlow & Garsek from 1999 to 2000 and then at McGartland & Borchardt, L.L.P., from 2001 to 2006, where she worked on medical malpractice, products liability, and personal injury cases. She has handled cases in state and federal courts and was named a Texas Rising Star by Texas Super Lawyers in 2006.

Ms. Jones starts every case with a detailed analysis of the facts and the procedural issues involved, so she can fight the case in court and support the client through the stress of the court system. She does criminal defense work to advocate for the underdog.

Ms. Jones speaks Czech and German. She is a member of University Christian Church in Fort Worth.
