Hector Romeo Belarmino III is a criminal defense attorney in the Houston office of Dunham & Jones. He practices in the Harris County misdemeanor courts, where his cases center on driving while intoxicated (DWI) and assault and family violence charges.
Mr. Belarmino joined the Houston office as a law clerk in August 2026 and was licensed in Texas the same year. In law school he clerked for the Orleans Public Defenders, the National Labor Relations Board and Hair Shunnarah Trial Attorneys, all in New Orleans, and he worked as a Rule XX student practitioner in the civil litigation division of the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic. Before law school he spent two years as a theater carpenter for the Jefferson Performing Arts Society in New Orleans.
He earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2026 as an Ignatian Law Scholar on a full scholarship, after a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Temple University in 2020. At Loyola he was symposium editor for the Loyola Journal of Public Interest Law, which published his comment "A Case Study of the NLRB in Light of Diminishing Power of Federal Agencies," and he organized its 2026 symposium.
Mr. Belarmino treats every case as its own, because each client's circumstances are different even when the charges look alike. He walks clients through the process step by step and builds the defense around their situation, so they understand what is happening and know they are not facing it alone. He believes the State should have to prove every charge it brings, and that everyone accused deserves a real defense.
Outside work, Mr. Belarmino writes Midwest emo songs, skateboards and reads dystopian thrillers.
