Cynthia Anahi Palacios is a criminal defense attorney in the Lubbock office of Dunham & Jones. She handles criminal defense cases for the firm and works with clients in English and Spanish.
Ms. Palacios clerked on immigration cases at the Whittenburg Law Firm in Lubbock the summer after her first year of law school. The next summer, in 2025, she joined Dunham & Jones as a law clerk in the Lubbock office and stayed on through the fall semester of her third year. In the spring of 2026 she was an extern with the Texas Tech University Office of General Counsel. After the bar exam she came back to the firm full time as a law clerk, and she was licensed in Texas in 2026.
She graduated summa cum laude, with highest honors, from the Texas Tech University Honors College in 2023, then earned her Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2026.
Ms. Palacios starts every case by listening to the client's side of it, so each client understands what is happening and knows they are not facing the court process alone. Clients for whom a language barrier makes that process harder to follow get her particular attention.
She is from Tatum, New Mexico. When she was four years old, she watched her father become a U.S. citizen, and she understood even then that someone had to advocate for him to get there. That moment set her on the path to becoming an advocate for people facing a legal system that feels unfamiliar. Telemundo Lubbock featured her in October 2026, after she became a lawyer.
