Reagen Chailey LaBarr is a criminal defense attorney in the Fort Worth office of Dunham & Jones. She defends people charged with misdemeanors in the Tarrant County courts.
Ms. LaBarr joined the firm in 2026 as a law clerk in its Fort Worth office and began practicing as an attorney when she was licensed in October 2026. Before law school, from 2020 to 2023, she worked as a legal assistant at The Gladney Center for Adoption in Fort Worth.
She earned her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2026. She served as an associate managing editor of the Texas A&M Law Review and worked in the school's Family & Veterans Advocacy Clinic. In the summer of 2025 she interned at the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Northern District of Texas, which defends people in federal criminal cases who cannot afford to hire a lawyer. Her other placements in law school were with the National Labor Relations Board, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Texas Advocacy Project. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Texas in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.
Ms. LaBarr sees a client as a person, not as the crime the State has alleged. She comes to a case with an open mind and treats it as a problem to solve, with one aim: that the worst day of a client's life does not decide the days that follow.
She grew up in Burleson and has spent most of the years since in Fort Worth.
