Mark Anthony ‘Mark’ Hendrickson, Plano Criminal Attorney

Mark Anthony 'Mark' Hendrickson is a criminal defense attorney in the Plano office of Dunham & Jones and a former Dallas County prosecutor. He has worked in criminal law since 1998 and appears most often in Collin and Rockwall Counties. He has tried more than 20 jury trials and has handled thousands of cases.

Mr. Hendrickson earned his undergraduate degree in English, studied at International Christian University in 1994, and completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Oklahoma College of Law in December 1999. He started in 1998 as an intern for Judge James Lane at the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals, and also interned with the Oklahoma County and Pottawatomie County District Attorneys and with private defense counsel.

From 2002 to 2012 he was a multi-county public defender with the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System, carrying a heavy caseload across western Oklahoma in juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony matters, including drug, alcohol-related, assaultive, sex, and fraud charges. He moved to Texas in 2012, was licensed here that year, and was an assistant district attorney in Dallas County through 2015.

In 2017 he returned to defense work on capital cases, where the State sought the death penalty, handling 22 of them over six years, and he joined Dunham & Jones in 2023. He was licensed in Oklahoma from 2002 to 2026 and has guest lectured at SMU.

Each case stands alone, and each client is a real person with a future to protect. Mr. Hendrickson holds the State to the same law it wants to apply and works to help a client come out of the representation a better person. He does this work because he can help people in their worst moments come out the other side better.

Outside the law, Mr. Hendrickson has performed in college and community theatre, including a turn as Rooster in Annie. He was elected twice to the city council in Clinton, Oklahoma, serving as vice mayor in his second term, and sat on the boards of Action Associates Women's Shelter and Multi-County Youth Services there. He has also been a radio DJ, a part-time youth minister and fill-in pulpit minister, an ESL teacher in Vienna, and an accounts clerk at his undergraduate alma mater.
