Robert Keith ‘Rob’ Hayden, Fort Worth Criminal Attorney

Robert Keith 'Rob' Hayden is a criminal defense attorney in the Fort Worth office of Dunham & Jones and a former felony prosecutor who has practiced criminal law since 2007. He handles felony cases involving assaultive offenses, family violence, sex crimes, theft, drugs, weapons, and DWI, mainly in Tarrant County, and he travels to other counties to try cases. As a prosecutor and a defense attorney combined, he has tried more than 100 jury trials.

Mr. Hayden served as an Assistant District Attorney in Smith County from 2007 to 2008 and in Midland County from 2009 to 2015, trying a broad range of serious felony and misdemeanor offenses. He also worked as a special prosecutor for felony family violence offenses and argued a case of first impression before the Eleventh Court of Appeals. He later practiced as an associate attorney with the Law Offices of Monty J Buhrow, PLLC, from 2017 to 2018. As a criminal defense attorney, he has handled numerous felony and misdemeanor cases.

Born in Galveston, Mr. Hayden grew up in Arlington, where he attended Young Junior High and Martin High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2000, and his Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University School of Law in 2006, where he reached the finals in moot court. He interned with the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office in 2005 and was licensed in Texas in 2007.

Mr. Hayden points out that no two cases, judges, or prosecutors are alike, so he sets his approach accordingly. Asked to sum that approach up in a single word, he picked "tenaciously." He enjoys the work, thoroughly. He lives in Arlington, where he has made his home since returning from Midland, and he spends his free time with his family.
