Jack Holmes, Houston Criminal Attorney

Jack F. Holmes was born in Forth Worth, Texas and raised in Arlington, Texas. Upon graduation from high school, he was drafted twice in the second round of the MLB amateur draft by the Cincinnati Reds and Oakland A's respectively. After an injury ended his baseball career, he joined the Temple Police Department and was employed there for ten years before deciding to attend law school.

Mr. Holmes attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and completed his B.S. Degree in Political Science with a Minor in Sociology. He then attended Oklahoma City University School of Law for two years and finished his remaining year at Baylor University. Mr. Holmes was awarded a Juris Doctor Degree from Oklahoma City University and was awarded second place in the school's Moot Court Program and second place in brief writing in the same program.

Upon graduation, Mr. Holmes started his own law firm and practiced law in Temple, Texas for over 25 years. His practice included all criminal offenses, personal injury and construction law. During that time Mr. Holmes tried numerous Murder and Capital Murder matters, including two death penalty cases. In addition, he has three written appellate victories, one from the Texas Supreme Court which is still cited today.

Aside from practicing law, Mr. Holmes enjoys watching baseball and visiting historical sites around the country.
